Winners are honored at an online awards ceremony in January. The event runs the third Saturday of the month.

You needn’t be a member of IPNE to attend. You needn’t have entered a book to attend. The evening is open to all. (Though those who join in do tend to be Book People.)

The main event kicks off at 4 pm Eastern Standard Time. We open up a bit earlier for hellos and informal chatting and time to straighten our party hats. The ceremony itself typically runs a little over an hour, with the top-ranked books for each category reviewed with fanfare. If there’s time, we also hear from some of the authors.

Following the ceremony, those who opt to stay then mingle and talk in breakout rooms. In this crowd of authors and publishers and readers and others in the industry, this can mean discussions both fruitful and fun.

The event is recorded. The networking is not.
