Showcase Your Books at the
Boston Book Festival
NOTE: This event is only available to members of IPNE and Connecticut Authors and Publishers Association (CAPA). If you would like to become a member of IPNE, return to the Home Page, click on "Join Now" and complete your membership online. Then register for the BBF.
IPNE is excited to again have a booth at the Boston Book Festival: Saturday, October 27. What's terrific is that as long as you register your books and get them to the IPNE Booth, you don't have to be at the booth at all. You don't even have to be in Boston!
Our 20' x 10' booth is double the size of last year's booth and will help us display/sell more books, get more publicity for IPNE, feature some authors and publishers, and even recruit some new members!
The Boston Book Festival (BBF), now in its 4th year, is the largest literary event in New England. On October 27, rain or shine, Copley Square will be alive with more than 100 world-renowned authors and thought leaders, workshops and events, exhibitors, live music, booksellers and book signings, activities and presentations for children. The expected audience is in the tens of thousands.
Whatever your interests, they've got it: fiction, history, memoir, science, food writing, sports writing, crime fiction, the environment, graphic novels, super kids’ events, and more!
Normally self-publishers don’t have an opportunity to participate in this festival, but through the auspices of IPNE, here’s a chance to showcase your titles. Here's how YOU can participate.
This year we’re including CAPA members. In addition, we’re offering on a first-come/first served, limited basis (additional fee) a special space where authors/publishers can reserve a 50 minute block of time for a “Meet and Greet” book signing/selling session. Because the BBF is so well attended, it’s a wonderful extra opportunity for IPNE and CAPA.
There are thirteen 50-minute time blocks available between 10AM to 12 noon and 2 to 4PM. Register on the IPNE website and click on either the AM or PM “Meet and Greet Session”. We will try to accommodate your preference.
If you’ve already registered, email Pam Fenner at email@example.com and tell her you would like to sign up for the “Meet and Greet Session” and give your preferences. We will send you an invoice for the "Meet and Greet" fee.
• $25 to display member's first title, $15 each thereafter
• $10 display member's post-card sized marketing materials
• $25 to reserve a 50-minute "Meet and Greet Session". (maximum of 2 spots per author/publisher.)
These fees help defer the cost of the exhibit booth. We will need a minimum of 2 and maximum of 5 copies of each book you enter. Bring your books to the BBF or ship your books to arrive no later than October 22 to:
144 Tenney Street
Georgetown, MA 01833
Any unsold books not picked up will be donated to a library or literacy campaign. Or you can get them at our November 3 or December 1 meetings.
Every book fair is unique and we can't predict what genres might be popular to this year's fairgoers. But we think that children's books, local tourist/regional titles and mysteries might be of interest.
DON'T WAIT – Sign in as a member, and choose from the options when you register. Once registered, we will follow up with information about setup, volunteering, and other details.
